Spicy Mushroom Jerky

Where are my jerky lovers at? Mushrooms are so versatile, so why not use them to make some homemade jerky you can snack on on the road or while chilling on the couch watching a movie.

Ingredients Below:

9 - 10 oz of sliced baby Bella Mushrooms (You can use shitake or portabella mushrooms)

3 Tbsp liquid aminos or coconut aminos

2 Tbsp maple syrup or brown rice syrup

2 tsp rice vinegar or lemon juice

1 Tbsp + 1 tsp sriracha sauce

2 tsp minced garlic

1 tsp chili powder

2 tsp minced onion

1/2 tsp black pepper

1/2 tsp cayenne pepper

Directions:

Preheat oven to 180 degrees

  1. Clean and cut mushrooms into small thin pieces
  2. Mix the liquid aminos, maple syrup, rice vinegar, sriracha sauce, minced garlic, chili powder, minced onion, black pepper, and cayenne pepper in a bowl.
  3. Pour sauce over the sliced mushroom. Mix mushrooms until they are evenly coated in the sauce.
  4. Add the mushrooms to a baking sheet on parchment paper.
  5. Bake in the oven for 21/2 -3 hours or until the mushrooms are dry and chewy. Remember to flip mushrooms to make sure they cook evenly.

Enjoy and store in an airtight container for a week and a half in the refrigerator.
