Pomegranate Puff Pastry Skulls 💀 - Fall VibesÂ
Â
Halloween Food Ideas Part 1Â
Â
Okay, we are in full Halloween mode. I am running this recipe back from last year, but I made a few changes. I decreased the number of seeds and added more raspberries for a better texture. I also added date syrup and cut back on the amount of sugar. Still flames and still vegan!
Peace and blessings to all!Â
Â
Pomegranate Filling Ingredients:
Â
1/2 cup pomegranate seeds
2 cups of raspberriesÂ
1/4 cup date syrupÂ
1/4 cup brown sugarÂ
1/4 tsp cinnamonÂ
1/4 tsp cardamom
1/4 cup pomegranate juice or water
2 Tbsp cassava flour
1/4 cup of vegan cream cheeseÂ
Vegan puff pastry roll
Â
Pomegranate Filling Steps
Â
Step 1. Cut and remove pomegranate seeds.
Â
Step 2. Add pomegranate, raspberries, brown sugar, date syrup, cinnamon, cardamom, and pomegranate juice to a saucepan and cook for 12-14 minutes on medium heat.Â
Â
Step 3. Add cream cheese and stir. Cook for 1-2 minutes. Allow to cool down, and slowly mix in cassava flour. Add back to medium heat and cook while stirring until the filling is thick.Â
Â
Step 4. Oil pan. Fill puff pastry with filling. It is imperative to seal the dough on the skulls when it leaks. Bake for 12 - 15 min at 400 degrees ( I got my skull pans from Nordic Ware. Target has them. :)
Â
Step 5. Have fun dressing up your skulls
Â
Enjoy the vibes!Â
