Check the vibes! We are remixing a classic today: Cheeseburgers. When I was young, and I was given the slightest clue that I was getting a cheeseburger happy meal, my entire day turned into happiness. Well, that may be a slight exaggeration, but I was for sure excited. I thought it would be fun to create the same flavors of a cheeseburger, but made with 100% plants. Some say that the cheeseburger was discovered in California in Lionel Sternberger's father's small shop. California also has some of the best walnuts, so pairing walnuts and cheeseburgers seemed like the perfect match! We will lock in the cheeseburger flavors by using an egg roll wrapper instead of a bun. Let's bring back the excellent cheeseburger vibes with plant vibes!
Walnut Grounds Ingredients:
- 2 1/2 cups of soaked walnuts (soak walnuts for 30 mins)
- 1 Tbsp chili oil
- 2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp ground black pepper
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 2 Tbsp olive oil
- Vegan cheese shreds
- Dill relish
- Chopped cooked onions
- Egg Roll wrappers
Step 1. Blend soaked walnuts and chili oil in a food processor for 1-2 minutes. (Do not over mix to keep a meaty texture with the Walnuts)
Step 2. Add 2 tbsp of olive oil to a pan and cook walnuts blend, with Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, salt, ground black pepper, and garlic powder on medium heat. Cook for 4-5 minutes or until the crumbles start to brown.
Step 3. Using Egg Roll wrappers, add walnut crumbles, dill relish, cooked onions, and shredded cheese to one corner of the wrapper. Roll the wrapper and seal the ends with water.
Step 4. Fry or Air-Fry the rolls
Step 5. Serve with ketchup, and don't forget plant vibes are good vibes!!!
